Academy Hours: May–August

Hi everyone!

We’re heading into a slightly busier period with events outside of WFGA, specifically from May through August. With this post, we want to give you a clear overview of how the academy will (or won’t) operate and which coaches will be unavailable during those times.

If head coach Tofi is absent, there is the option to make up the training sessions with our new coach, Karolina Bačková, who has been with the academy from the very beginning and possesses all the same information and expertise as the head coach.

Bačková has a very friendly approach, which is something we value highly at the academy, and she has experience from the highest youth competitions, as well as the women’s Extraliga, where she played for Chodov and Liberec. She also has experience at the national team level, having won a bronze medal with the junior national team in 2024.

May:

Tofi:

• May 8–10, 2026 – Participation in the Junior World Championships in Italy*

• May 14–15, 2026 – KTM BU16*

• May 18–24, 2026 – Time Off*

• May 28–31, 2026 – KTM GU15*

*Option to have training sessions with Bačkys

Bačkys:

• May 12–14, 2026 – Preparation for the college entrance exam

• May 17, 2026 – College entrance exam

June:

Tofi:

• June 5–8, 2026 – 3-on-3 matches in Italy

• June 11–15, 2026 – Friendly matches against Finland with the men’s national team

• June 25–30, 2026 – Participation in the BlindSave camp in Latvia

Bačkys:

• June 6–30, 2026 – Vacation in the U.S.

July:

Tofi:

• July 1–7, 2026 – Time off*

• July 8–11, 2026 – Participating in the Prague Games (training sessions to be arranged on an ad hoc basis / training sessions with Bačkys)

• July 12–20, 2026 – Participating in the GoalieStar camp*

*Option to have training sessions with Bačkys

August:

Tofi:

• July 30–August 2, 2026 – Men’s National Team Training Camp*

• August 10–16, 2026 – Break*

Bačkys:

• August 8–12, 2026 – Vacation in Germany

*Option to have training sessions with Bačkys
